the basics

  • above all, I am a safe & supportive space for my clients. I am not here to fix or heal you (I don’t think you’re broken at all) I am here to guide & support you through your healing, growth & expansion.

I don’t tell you what to do or what you should do, and i don’t have a magic pill to fix all your problems. I facilitate deep inner work, growth, healing and expansion. I help you unlearn old ways of being & operating while holding space for new, more embodied ways of being.

If you want to learn more about how I can support you, check out the services page or send me a message/email.

  • I received an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach certification from the Institute For Integrative Nutrition in 2019. This program taught me about how we can truly & deeply nourish ourselves; I learned about different ways of eating, mental, emotional and physical health and wellness. I studied under Mastin Kipp in 2021 becoming a trauma informed coach and training in his methods for healing trauma, and finding/living your purpose.

I am a 200hr yoga teacher, Somatic Healer, Breathwork Facilitator and teacher of Yoga Nidra; I received these certification from a yoga studio and school in Austin, Tx; My Vinyasa Practice. Throughout all my trainings and certifications I have always prioritized doing my own work and fully embodying & integrating these trainings into my Self and my life. I am forever and always my first client, and a student.

  • Being trauma informed means that I focus on creating a safe space. I understand each client has a unique history, perspective, world view and nervous system. I connect with curiosity. I teach co regulation and self regulation. I respond with compassion, empathy & understanding. I build on strengths and welcome all parts and feelings, even the tough ones. I breathe deeply and take care of my own well-being. I know that learning happens in relationships.

I have been trained on the nervous system, polyvagal theory, and healing emotional trauma. My yoga training was also trauma informed meaning I am qualified to teach to groups and individuals who have experienced trauma in their lives. Really it means I am extremely intentional in my work and take my ability to hold space for others very seriously.

  • check out the services page for details on my offerings, or book a vibe check call to talk with me about ways we can work together.

i hold space in a variety of ways, one - on - one coaching, yoga, breathwork, meditation, moon circles, community events and more.

Hi, I’m Sloan!

I became a coach because I wanted to support people going through transformation. I went through a big shift in my life and I wish I had more support through that, and I realized that I could become what I needed. 2017 was a big year for me, I quit my career of 7 years, started and quit another one, got married, went vegan and quit smoking. It was like once that first domino fell there was no stopping the rest of them.

I started to feel unhappy in my job, unfulfilled; I got to this point where the money and things that made it worth it weren’t cutting it anymore. I switched employers thinking that would help, and eventually shifted careers. Turns out it had nothing to do with what I was doing for a living and had everything to do with HOW I was living, and years of being in survival mode catching up to me.

I ended up being fun-employed for awhile and this led me to some very deep soul-searching, and by that i mean bingeing Netflix; which led me to watching every vegan or health related documentary lol. Now don’t worry I am not trying to convert you, I don’t even really adhere to the label; what is important with this part of my journey is it was the first time I really looked at the choices I was making and the way I was living my life.

It turns out I was repeating patterns that I had grown up around and learned through my life (*spoiler alert, we all do this) and like I said once that first domino fell, they all fell. For me once I started looking at the choices I was making around food, I started looking at all the other things and ways in which I consume. I started digging into my mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wellness; it was extreme home makeover, self edition.

I experienced a lot of emotional trauma throughout my life, a lot of us do, and the next domino to fall was resolving a lot of these traumas. I had to learn how to feel my feelings, what I was feeling in the present and a lot of things I never allowed myself to feel. I learned about my nervous system, all the ways it helped me survive and all the ways it was keeping me stuck.

This journey as been deeply personal, as well as professional. Since becoming a coach in 2019, I have continued to grow and so has my practice and the ways in which I support and hold space for people. I think of myself as my first client, walking the journey and integrating my experience. My personal experience combines with my trainings and certifications and allows me to support others as they walk their journey.

I think that’s enough about me for now, lol. It’s very nice to meet you and I am genuinely so happy that you’re here. I hope to see you in a class soon, whether its IRL or online.
